Message: Great interview Ortheia. We have become passive as the "elders" in our communities. In our own neighborhoods; we were not dutiful in raising our children properly. Not just our own, but every child needs direction. There was a time that the neighborhood drunk would apologize to a lady or young child for cursing in front of them. If a drunk knew that it was disrespectful, what does that say about our young people? Our young men no longer give up their seat on the bus. They wear their hats to concerts, inside of restaurants, etc. Our apathy has compromised the standards of respect and love for each other, especially our females. We should challenge the radio personalities to stop promoting inappropriate and disrespectful behavior by changing their comments and language. Self-respect can have a rebirth with a focused and diligent community.
